The original “Happy Gilmore” film, released in 1996, enjoyed significant commercial success, sparking long-standing discussions about a potential sequel. Recently, these speculations have materialized into a concrete project. Adam Sandler, reprising his role as the unorthodox golfer with a hockey player’s heart, disclosed the expected release period for “Happy Gilmore 2,” which also teases a special appearance by rap icon Eminem.
Adam Sandler shared insights about the “Happy Gilmore 2” release during a conversation with Dan Patrick on his sports radio show. The production of the sequel wrapped up last week, and Sandler mentioned that the film is targeting a July 2025 premiere on Netflix. While responding to Patrick’s query about a possible Fourth of July weekend release, Sandler specified, “Not July 4th, but we’re aiming for sometime in July.”
In addition to the release details, Sandler confirmed Eminem’s cameo in the upcoming sequel. The discussion came up as Patrick probed about notable guest appearances in the film. “They’ve told me to keep quiet about the press stuff,” Sandler remarked, “but go ahead, and I’ll let you know if it’s fine to discuss.” When Patrick brought up Eminem’s participation, Sandler approved but chose not to disclose the specifics of Eminem’s role.
Reflecting on Eminem’s involvement, Sandler expressed his admiration, “I’ve known Eminem for a long time, and he’s truly a great person. He was incredibly humorous on set. We spent a day filming with him, capturing countless memorable moments that are both hilarious and invaluable.”
This announcement has certainly set the stage for another potentially hit installment in the “Happy Gilmore” saga, with added star power from Eminem’s cameo.
